Faust

Faust is an opera in five acts by Charles Gounod, first performed in 1859. The work is a French Romantic score with lyrical vocal writing and expansive orchestral colour, and it became widely performed in French opera houses during the mid-19th century and an important part of Gounod's operatic career.
