Symphony no. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Sir Georg Solti
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. The work employs a late-Romantic orchestral palette with unconventional colours and experimental textures, including nocturnal passages, abrupt shifts in tonality and distinctive instrumentation such as mandolin and guitar, and it occupies a transitional position in Mahler's middle-period output between his more monumental symphonies.
