String Quartets
Album by Béla Bartók & Rubin Quartet
String Quartets is a set of six string quartets by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, composed between 1908 and 1939. The works trace Bartók's development from late-Romantic influences to a mature modernist voice, combining folk-derived modal melodies, complex rhythms and extended string techniques to broaden the language and formal possibilities of 20th-century chamber music.
