Scheherazade is an orchestral suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work features vivid orchestral colour, sweeping melodies and modal harmonies that evoke Orientalist atmospheres drawn from One Thousand and One Nights, and it represents a key example of Rimsky-Korsakov's mature orchestration within the late Romantic Russian tradition.
