The Creation is an oratorio by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, first performed in 1798. The work combines Classical-era choral writing, varied orchestral colour and solo vocal writing to depict the biblical account of creation, representing Haydn's late-career contribution to the large-scale choral-orchestral repertoire.
