Symphony No. 5 is a symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The work is a large-scale Romantic symphony in B-flat major that has dense counterpoint, prominent brass sonorities, extended harmonic pacing and substantial sonata and fugue-like structures, and it was written in the middle period of Bruckner's career when he favoured denser orchestration and contrapuntal writing.
