Scheherazade
Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Valery Gergiev & Симфонический оркестр Мариинского театра
Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work features colourful orchestration, exotic modes and sweeping string writing to evoke tales from The Arabian Nights, and it reflects Rimsky-Korsakov's late-career emphasis on orchestral colour within the Russian tradition of programme music.
