Symphony No. 3 is the third symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1896. The sprawling, six-movement work combines late-Romantic orchestration with vocal forces, expansive structures and striking contrasts of mood and colour, representing Mahler's extension of the symphonic form during his middle period.
