Asrael
Album by Josef Suk & Essener Philharmoniker
Asrael is the second symphony by Czech composer Josef Suk, completed in 1906. It is a late-Romantic orchestral work with dense chromatic harmony and expanded orchestration, and it followed a period of personal bereavement in Suk's life as he turned from earlier chamber music to larger-scale symphonic writing.
