Symphony No. 5
Album by Anton Bruckner & Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg & Ivor Bolton
Symphony No. 5 is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1876. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic orchestral symphony characterised by complex polyphony, expansive movements and prominent brass writing, and it occupies a pivotal place in Bruckner's output as an exploration of his mature contrapuntal technique and architectural approach to symphonic form.
