Up Popped the Devil is an album by American jazz pianist Mal Waldron, released in 1973. The music is rooted in post-bop and free jazz and uses sparse, repetitive motifs and dark harmonies, and it continued his move toward a more austere, minimal style in the 1970s that emphasised mood and open improvisation.
