Má Vlast
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Karel Ančerl & Česká filharmonie
Má Vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. The work exemplifies late Romantic orchestral writing and programme music, using richly coloured orchestration and recurring motifs to evoke Bohemian landscapes and national legends, and it occupies a central place in Smetana's mature output and in the development of Czech nationalist music.
