Deutsche Messe

Album by Franz Schubert & Karl Forster

Deutsche Messe is a musical setting of the Mass by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1827. Written for choir and simple accompaniment with German-language texts, its strophic, hymn-like movements were intended for congregational use and reflect Schubert's late-career engagement with accessible sacred music alongside his larger choral and instrumental works.
