Peer Gynt Suites
Album by Edvard Grieg & Michael Jansons & Northwestern Radio Orchestra & Tom Holmgren
Peer Gynt Suites are two orchestral suites by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, arranged from his incidental music for the play Peer Gynt and published in 1888 and 1893. The suites exemplify Grieg's Romantic-era orchestral style, blending lyrical, folk-influenced themes with colourful orchestration and dramatic contrasts, and they occupy an important place in his output as concert works derived from theatrical music.
