Also sprach Zarathustra
Album by Richard Strauss & Wiener Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan
Also sprach Zarathustra is a tone poem by German composer Richard Strauss, composed and premiered in 1896. The work features expansive late-Romantic orchestration, striking brass fanfares and rich orchestral colour to evoke philosophical themes inspired by Nietzsche, and it occupies a central place in Strauss's output as a prominent example of his programme music.
