Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & State Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Russian Federation & Evgeny Fyodorovich Svetlanov
Scheherazade, Op. 35 is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work draws on tales from One Thousand and One Nights and is characterised by colourful orchestral textures, prominent violin solo passages and a programme-like structure that exemplified Rimsky-Korsakov's maturation as an orchestrator and contributed to the late Romantic Russian orchestral tradition.
