Metropolis Symphony
Album by Michael Daugherty & Nashville Symphony Orchestra & Giancarlo Guerrero
Metropolis Symphony is a symphony by American composer Michael Daugherty, completed in 1993. The five-movement work combines contemporary orchestral techniques with influences from American popular culture, including jazz- and film-inspired references and colourful orchestration, and it represents a key development in Daugherty's shift toward large-scale, programme-driven orchestral composition.
