The Medium

The Medium is a 1946 opera by Gian Carlo Menotti. Musically it is a short chamber opera combining lyrical, tonal vocal writing with speech-like declamation and restrained orchestral scoring, and it is an early example of Menotti's mid-20th-century operatic style.
