Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, composed and completed in 1877. The work is characterised by its pastoral, lyrical character and classical four-movement structure, employing rich Romantic orchestration and presenting a generally more genial tone within Brahms's symphonic output of the 1870s.
