Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Государственный академический симфонический оркестр России & Alexander Gavostov
Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work is characterised by colourful orchestration, sinuous modal melodies and rhythmic vitality that evoke Orientalist storytelling, and it occupies a central place in Rimsky-Korsakov's output as a showcase of his mastery of orchestral colour and programme writing.
