Schéhérazade
Album by Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky‐Korsakov & Orchestre de Paris & Mstislav Rostropovich
Scheherazade is a symphonic suite by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, composed in 1888. The work is cast in four connected movements that evoke tales from One Thousand and One Nights through vivid orchestration, colourful orchestral effects and prominent solo passages that showcase Rimsky-Korsakov's mature orchestral technique, and it occupies an important place in his output and in the late Romantic Russian orchestral repertoire.
