Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1808. The work adopts a programme-like structure that evokes rural and natural scenes through lyrical melodies, distinctive woodwind and string writing and expanded orchestral colour, marking a move toward more descriptive, Romantic-era tendencies in Beethoven's middle period.
