Symphony no. 7

Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Berliner Philharmoniker & Herbert von Karajan

Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1811–1812 and premiered in 1813. Rooted in the Classical tradition and pointing towards the early Romantic, it is characterised by vigorous, dance-like rhythms, expanded orchestral colours and an emphasis on rhythmic drive that situates it within Beethoven's middle-to-late output and the evolving symphonic practice of the period.
