Má vlast
Album by Bedřich Smetana & Royal Philharmonic Orchestra & Sir Malcolm Sargent
Má vlast is a cycle of six symphonic poems by Czech composer Bedřich Smetana, composed between 1874 and 1879. The works draw on Czech folk-inspired themes and national history, employ rich orchestration, recurring motifs and programme-driven narrative techniques, and represent a key statement in Smetana’s late career and in the development of Czech national music.
