Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection" is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894 and first performed in 1895. The large-scale late-Romantic work employs expanded orchestral forces along with chorus and vocal soloists to explore themes of death and resurrection through contrasting sombre and transcendent passages, and it represents a pivotal point in Mahler's development of the symphony and the incorporation of voice into symphonic form.
