Requiems
Album by Maurice Duruflé & Herbert Howells & The Saint Thomas Choir of Men and Boys & John Scott
Requiem is a choral composition by French composer Maurice Duruflé, completed in 1947. Rooted in Gregorian chant and rich, impressionistic harmony, it is scored for choir with organ (and often orchestra), producing a restrained, chant-inflected liturgical setting that occupies a central place in Duruflé's output and in mid-20th-century French sacred music.
