Settin’ the Pace

Settin' the Pace is an album by John Coltrane, released in 1961. The music is rooted in hard bop and post-bop and has Coltrane's cascading tenor lines over firm rhythmic accompaniment, and it comes from the period when he moved from sideman work toward modal and avant-garde approaches.
