Ascension

Ascension is a studio album by American jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, released in 1966. It is a free jazz work performed by a large ensemble with collective improvisation, extended solos and dense, often atonal textures, and it was recorded during Coltrane's late period when he moved further into avant-garde and experimental approaches.
