Holberg Variations

Album by Edvard Grieg & 1B1 & Jan Bjøranger & Christian Ihle Hadland & Erlend Skomsvoll

Holberg Suite (From Holberg's Time), Op. 40 is a suite for piano by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg, composed in 1884 and later orchestrated in 1885. Modelled on 18th-century dance forms as an homage to playwright Ludvig Holberg, the work blends Romantic harmonic language with baroque textures and is representative of Grieg's interest in historical forms within his mature output.
