Symphony No. 2 is a symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1877. Musically it is a late-Romantic orchestral work in D major, characterised by lyrical themes, pastoral warmth and classical structural clarity, and it occupies a place in Brahms's output as a comparatively serene and consolidated statement of his symphonic voice.
