Album by Edward Elgar & Yvonne Kenny & Alfreda Hodgson & Christopher Gillett & Benjamin Luxon & London Philharmonic Orchestra & London Philharmonic Choir & Leonard Slatkin

The Kingdom is an oratorio by English composer Edward Elgar, first performed in 1906. The work continues Elgar's exploration of sacred themes and large-scale choral-orchestral writing, employing soloists, chorus and orchestra with late-Romantic harmonies and contrapuntal textures, and serves as a companion piece within his sequence of religious works.
