Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Pathétique is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, completed and premiered in 1893. The work is a late-Romantic orchestral composition characterised by sweeping melodies, rich orchestration and dramatic contrasts, ending with an unusually sombre finale that stands as a culminating statement in Tchaikovsky's compositional career and in the Romantic symphonic tradition.
