Impressions

Impressions is an album by American jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, released in 1963. Musically, it is rooted in modal jazz and post-bop, with extended improvisation, intense tenor saxophone work and a rhythm section that moves from driving swing to freer textures, and it follows Coltrane's move toward modal and exploratory forms in the early 1960s.
