Requiem
Album by Gabriel Fauré & Freiburger Domsingknaben & Boris Böhmann & Jörg Josef Schwab
Requiem is a choral work by French composer Gabriel Fauré, composed between 1887 and 1890. It adopts a restrained, consolatory approach to the requiem mass, favouring refined harmonic language, intimate orchestration and luminous choral textures with prominent lyrical solo lines, and it occupies an important place in Fauré's output as a distinctive example of late 19th-century sacred music.
