Symphony no. 1
Album by Anton Bruckner & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Sir Georg Solti
Symphony No. 1 is the first symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, composed between 1866 and 1868. The work exhibits Bruckner's early orchestral language with expansive structures, dense brass writing and long, hymn-like slow movements, and it foreshadows the large-scale symphonic approach he developed in his later works.
