Special Edition

Special Edition is a studio album by American jazz drummer Jack DeJohnette, released in 1980. The album blends post-bop, free jazz and avant-garde approaches with layered rhythmic complexity and a mix of acoustic and electric textures, and it marked the establishment of DeJohnette's long-running ensemble that crystallised his compositional and bandleading direction in the early 1980s.
