The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Interpreti Veneziani
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, published as part of his Op. 8 collection in 1725. These Baroque concertos feature vivid programme-driven writing for solo violin and string ensemble, employing ritornello form, contrasting tempi and instrumental effects to depict seasonal scenes, and they exemplify Vivaldi's mature concerto style and its role in the development of the solo violin concerto.
