Siegfried is an opera by German composer Richard Wagner, premiered in 1876 as the third work of his Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle. Musically it continues Wagner's mature music-drama approach, employing expansive orchestral writing, recurring leitmotifs and dense harmonic textures to advance the cycle's dramatic narrative and the composer's evolving treatment of heroic themes.
