Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed around 1900 and premiered in 1901. Musically it blends late-Romantic orchestral writing with relatively transparent textures and classical forms, culminating in a soprano solo that presents a child's vision of heaven and reflecting Mahler's move toward more concise, songlike structures within his symphonic output.
