About Moog Music

Moog Music is an American synthesizer company founded by Robert Moog in 1953, now based in Asheville, North Carolina. The company pioneered voltage-controlled synthesis beginning in the 1960s with the Moog modular synthesizer, the first commercially available instrument of its kind. The Minimoog, introduced in 1970, became one of the most iconic electronic instruments ever made. After changing hands several times, the Moog Music name was returned to Robert Moog in 2002. The company continues to manufacture analog synthesizers and effects, and was acquired by inMusic in 2023.
