The OB-Xa is an analogue synthesiser manufactured by Oberheim and introduced in 1981. Its thick, warm pads and sweeping filter sounds shaped the sound of 1980s rock and pop, most famously providing the synth riff on Van Halen's 'Jump' and appearing on records by Prince and Talking Heads.
