How do I connect Claude AI with MCP?
TL;DR
Add https://mcp.raygum.com/mcp as a custom connector for public catalogue access. Use Claude Code with a Raygum API token for playlist actions.
What is the MCP integration?
Raygum provides a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that gives Claude access to artists, releases, tracks, and recommendations from Raygum's catalogue.
What you can do with it
- Ask Claude about artist discographies and details
- Get information about specific releases and tracks
- Discover music through natural language conversations
- Create and edit Raygum playlists from Claude Code with an API token
Getting started
In Claude or Claude Desktop, open Customize → Connectors, add a custom connector, and use https://mcp.raygum.com/mcp. This provides public catalogue access. Visit the MCP documentation page for complete setup instructions, including:
- Connecting Claude, Claude Code, Codex, and other MCP clients
- Creating a personal token for playlist actions
- All available tools and example prompts
- Connection testing and troubleshooting
Requirements
Claude's hosted custom connectors cannot send Raygum's personal API token, so they provide public catalogue access only. Use Claude Code or another client that supports custom Bearer headers for private playlists and playlist changes.
