Spaghetti Western
Spaghetti Western music emerged in the 1960s, originally composed for Italian films about cowboys, showcasing that you can do a lot with a twangy guitar and a touch of melodrama, even if it was all made on a shoestring budget. It features haunting melodies, whistling, and the occasional clanging of a bell, creating the perfect soundtrack for shootouts that probably never happened in such dramatic fashion. Surprisingly, it's managed to influence an entire generation of musicians who’ve realised they can sound both cool and enigmatic whilst wearing a cowboy hat, or at the very least, a beanie.
