Soul Jazz

Soul Jazz emerged in the 1960s, primarily in the United States, when jazz musicians decided that what the world really needed was a bit more groove and a lot less pretentiousness. It’s characterised by a fusion of jazz with soul, R&B, and, quite frankly, an overwhelming desire to get your foot tapping whilst sipping a gin and tonic. The result feels like a delightful jam session where everyone’s invited, unless of course you're the sort who insists on bringing your own theme song.
