Psybient

Psybient, or psychedelic ambient music, emerged in the 1990s, mainly drawing inspiration from the goa trance scene, whilst some liken it to a gentle massage for the mind, if a massage involved a lot of synths and less oil. It sounds like a cosmic blend of ethereal melodies, hypnotic beats, and the occasional hint of nature sounds, creating an auditory experience perfect for both introspective moments and late-night raves where no one is quite sure if they're awake. It's the genre that posh hippies and couch philosophers adore, proving that a chill atmosphere can also come with a side of elaborate self-discovery, all without the need for an actual trip to the stars.
