Post Classical
Post-Classical music emerged in the late 20th century, when composers grew tired of forgetting the 'classical' in favour of exploring new sounds, often using traditional instruments in rather untraditional ways. It generally features minimalist tendencies and a sprinkling of pop sensibility, so think of it as classical music on a cheeky holiday in the avant-garde. Fans might argue it’s a bridge between lofty concert halls and modern soundtracks, while non-fans just hear exceptionally posh elevator music.
