Italian Jazz

Italian Jazz emerged in the 1920s, largely in cities like Milan and Rome, when local musicians decided they fancied improvising with a side of espresso. Characterised by a warm, melodic style that often fuses traditional Italian folk elements with the swing and syncopation typical of jazz, it feels like a gentle serenade from a charming gondolier who's really good at the saxophone. Much like a good bowl of pasta, it varies greatly depending on the region, with fans proudly declaring theirs as the best, though we all know it’s really just a matter of taste.
