Indie Dance

Indie dance emerged in the late 1980s and early 1990s, primarily from the eccentric corners of British nightclubs where floppy-haired lads discovered they could make dance music without sacrificing their 'indie credibility'. It's characterised by infectious melodies, a hint of post-punk grit, and the uncanny ability to make you dance like nobody's watching, even if most definitely everyone is. The genre has a charming tendency to blur the lines between jangly guitars and pumping beats, like a cheeky mixologist who’s had one too many shandies at the pub and spilled a bit of everything into your drink.
