Groove

Groove music, which gained traction during the late 1960s in the United States, is essentially what happens when rhythm gets overly ambitious and decides it wants to engage in a long-term relationship with your body. Characterised by infectious bass lines and a repetitive structure, it's the sort of sound that makes your feet itching to dance whilst simultaneously contemplating the meaning of life—well, whilst shaking your hips, obviously. It’s a genre that proves we might just have a dancefloor saviour amongst us, even if the sound is so smooth it could probably run for Prime Minister.
