Gothic Metal

Gothic Metal burst onto the scene in the early 1990s, mainly from the UK, where it was the musical equivalent of a dark, brooding poem recited by a Chainsaw-wielding bard. It blends the heaviness of metal with ethereal melodies and often features dramatic themes—think love gone terribly wrong, ghostly apparitions, and the occasional existential crisis. Listening to it is a bit like wandering through an ornate graveyard at twilight; it’s hauntingly beautiful, yet you can’t shake the feeling that something might be lurking in the shadows, possibly judging your taste in music.
